Struggling artist’s sketch helps police catch her attacker

Laura Murray was barely making rent drawing portraits of tourists in Central Park when she was mugged at gunpoint in the lobby of her West Harlem apartment building.

The daughter of an Oklahoma City cop, Murray, then 21, stayed calm as the attack unfolded on an afternoon in November 2012.

Her two assailants, whom she would learn were an uncle and nephew, dragged her to an unlit hallway. The nephew held her up to the wall by her neck, while the uncle pointed a gun in her face. Read More…
