Orange County Carrying a Concealed Firearm Diversion Policy

As of July 1st, 2023, Florida law no longer requires you to have a permit to carry a concealed firearm. With the decriminlization of no longer needing a permit to carry a firearm, Orange County created a Carry a Concealed Firearm (CCF) diversion program. This diversion program consists of a 2 hour in person class.

To be approved for the CCF diversion program, the State attorney’s office will make a decision based on a person’s criminal history, current charges, and other mitigating factors.

Participation in the CCF Diversion will require you to be approved for, attend and complete one of the State Attorney’s class. The cost of the class is $100 and will need to be paid by money order at the time of the class. Cost of Investigation in this
case must be paid by money order (if applicable).

If you successfully complete the CCF Diversion a nolle prosequi will be filed in your case.
